ViCi Gaming come from behind to defeat Eclipse 2-1 in the grand final of eXTREMESLAND 2017 China Regional Finals, taking home ~$4,550 in cash prizes and secured a higher seed at the eXTREMESLAND Asia Finals in October.
Besides IEM Oakland SEA qualifier, the eXTREMESLAND 2017 China Regional Finals also took place during the weekend, which featured eight teams in attendance, duking it out for a share of the ~$8,730 prize fund and three qualification spots to the $250K Asian tournament.
With TYLOO away overseas in Poland for a bootcamp this month, forcing them to skip the event, which meant ViCi and Flash were the next candidates in line to become number one in the Chinese competition.
As expected, ViCi and Flash topped their respective groups, followed by Eclipse and 5POWER in second place on day one, where they advanced to the semi-final playoffs. Bin "Savage" Liu and co. swept past Gan-Erdene "dobu" Batbold's crew in two quick maps, while Eclipse surprisingly edged past YuanZhang "Attacker" Sheng's squad with two overtime wins in the three-map series.
In the third place decider, Flash pulled off a reverse comeback against 5POWER and managed to qualify for the eXTREMESLAND Asia Finals 2017. On the other hand, ViCi repeated a similar scenario versus the upstarts Eclipse in the grand final, 2-1, after losing the first map in double overtime on Inferno.
